Description
The BESKID-BIS represents a design variation on our popular BESKID table, offering customers an alternative aesthetic while maintaining the uncompromising quality standards that define all Spolnota products. Handcrafted in our Białka workshops by the same skilled artisans who create our entire camping furniture line, the BESKID-BIS features refined proportions and distinctive structural elements that give it a unique character while delivering the same reliable functionality that outdoor enthusiasts depend on. Constructed from sustainably sourced Polish hardwoods certified by FSC® (C106154), the BESKID-BIS begins with timber selection that prioritizes both performance and beauty. Our craftspeople evaluate each board for grain pattern, natural color, and structural properties before incorporating it into the table. The wood is then carefully prepared through a series of steps that bring out its best qualities—planing to precise thickness, jointing for perfect edges, and sanding progressively finer to create surfaces that are both beautiful and functional. This preparation process, refined over 75 years of furniture making, ensures that each table meets our exacting standards. The tabletop construction showcases traditional woodworking techniques adapted for outdoor use, with boards carefully arranged and joined to create a unified surface that resists warping and splitting. The joinery methods used in the BESKID-BIS are time-tested approaches that have proven their worth over centuries, but they require skilled hands to execute properly. Our artisans understand how to orient grain patterns to work together rather than against each other, how to create joints that accommodate wood movement, and how to finish surfaces that will shed water while remaining smooth and attractive. The base structure of the BESKID-BIS features a folding mechanism that balances portability with stability, allowing the table to collapse for transport while providing rock-solid support when deployed. The engineering of folding furniture is more complex than it might appear—the components must be strong enough to support significant weight, precisely fitted enough to eliminate wobble, and cleverly designed to fold without binding or requiring excessive force. Our craftspeople bring decades of collective experience to these challenges, creating mechanisms that operate smoothly through thousands of cycles. The surface finish employs our signature water-based lacquer system, applied in multiple coats with careful sanding between layers. This environmentally responsible finishing process creates protection that penetrates into the wood fibers rather than simply sitting on top, moving with the wood's natural expansion and contraction rather than cracking or peeling. The result is a surface that weathers gracefully, developing character over time while maintaining its protective properties. Spills wipe away easily, the finish resists UV fading, and the wood's natural beauty remains visible beneath the clear protective layers. At 70x70x72 cm, the BESKID-BIS provides comfortable seating for four people with dimensions that work perfectly with standard outdoor chairs including our entire range of camping furniture. The square format creates an intimate dining arrangement where everyone can easily reach shared dishes and engage in conversation. The height is calculated to provide comfortable arm positioning for dining, neither too high (which creates awkward reaching) nor too low (which causes hunching). These ergonomic considerations, developed through years of customer feedback, ensure that the BESKID-BIS supports comfortable outdoor living. The BESKID-BIS embodies Spolnota's philosophy that quality furniture represents an investment in better living rather than a disposable purchase. Built to last decades with minimal maintenance, constructed from renewable materials harvested responsibly, and crafted by cooperative members who take pride in their work, this table connects your outdoor dining to values that matter—sustainability, craftsmanship, community, and respect for both people and planet. Whether you're furnishing a permanent outdoor space or seeking reliable camping equipment, the BESKID-BIS delivers the performance and longevity you deserve, with a distinctive character that sets it apart from ordinary outdoor furniture.
